Crypto card for Google Play, YouTube Premium and Google One

Google charges a card saved in your Google payments profile, not crypto. Read one thing first: Google's own list says Google Play can't be used with virtual credit cards (VCC), so an ExCards card may be refused there. If Google accepts it, Visa E-commerce usually fits subscriptions: payments from $1 carry no authorization fee.

Which card to try for Google Play

All three cards pay online, pass 3D Secure and work with Google Pay. If Google accepts the card, what you pay on top depends on the size and frequency of your purchases.

YouTube Premium, Google One, app subscriptions: Visa E-commerce. A monthly charge of $1 or more costs only the 3D Secure check, and the card has no daily or monthly cap.

Start small. Because of Google's rule on virtual cards, top up for one month of the subscription first and see whether Google accepts the card before you move more money onto it.

None of this guarantees that a payment is approved. That decision belongs to Google's checks and card processing.

What Google's help center says

We read Google's official help pages on 10.10.2026. We have not made test payments in Google Play, so below is what Google states, not our experience.

How to pay for Google Play, step by step

  1. Issue the card. Sign up at app.excards.io, pass the light passport check and choose a card. The card price is paid once, at issuance. The virtual card is ready within 10 minutes after verification.
  2. Top up with any crypto. This is a separate step after the card is issued: send USDT, BTC, ETH or another supported coin to your deposit address. The first top-up is at least 10 USDT, and the top-up fee of your card is taken from each top-up. Keep a little more on the card than one month of the subscription.
  3. Add the card to Google. On an Android phone, go to your payment methods in Google Play, tap Add a payment method and follow the on-screen steps; on a computer the same list is at payments.google.com, Payment methods. Enter the billing address you actually live at, the same one as in your payments profile. Source: How to add, remove, or edit your Google Play payment methods, checked 10.10.2026.
  4. Confirm the payment. If a 3D Secure window opens, complete it right away. If Google refuses the card itself, do not keep retrying: the reason is on Google's side.

Do not press "pay" over and over. On Visa E-commerce a $0.80 surcharge applies if more than 10% of the card's payments are declined. If the price is not in US dollars, the issuer converts at its rate, which can include a markup of up to 2%. Where cards are available at all is on the geo restrictions page.

Frequently asked questions

Does Google Play accept virtual cards?

Google's list of accepted payment methods says Google Play can't be used with virtual credit cards (VCC). ExCards cards are virtual, so Google may refuse them. Google does not explain how it decides that a card is a VCC, so we cannot promise that a card will or will not be accepted.

Can I pay for YouTube Premium with a crypto card?

Only through a card: YouTube charges a payment method, not crypto. YouTube says payment methods vary by country and billing platform, and in some countries the payment method must be issued in that country. If you subscribe through Google Play, Google Play's rules apply too, including the one on virtual cards.

Which ExCards card should I try for Google subscriptions?

Usually Visa E-commerce: payments from $1 carry no authorization fee, only $0.03 for a 3D Secure check, and the card has no daily or monthly cap. Top up for one month first and check that Google accepts the card.

Can I change my Google Play country to match the card?

Google says that to set a new Google Play country you must be in that country and have a payment method from it, and that the country can be changed only once every 90 days. So the country follows where you are, not the card.

Why does Google ask me to verify my identity before paying?

Google's help on payment issues says you might need to verify your identity before you can buy anything. This is a check on your Google payments profile; follow the steps Google shows, then try the purchase again.

Is identity verification needed to get the card?

Yes. KYC is required for every ExCards card: a light passport check by the card issuer partner plus sanctions screening. The virtual card is issued within 10 minutes after verification is approved.
