Pay for Disney+ with crypto: a virtual card for your subscription
Disney+ takes Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards, PayPal and Klarna, not crypto. So you top up a virtual ExCards card with any crypto and pay the subscription with the card. Visa E-commerce usually fits: it costs 35 USDT once, at issuance, and payments from $1 carry no authorization fee. Approval is still up to Disney+.
Disney+ and crypto in short
| What Disney+ accepts | Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit or debit cards, PayPal, Klarna, and billing through partners. No crypto. |
| What you need | A card topped up with crypto in advance, with enough balance for the plan price. In EU markets the payment method must come from inside the EU. |
| Which card to choose | Visa E-commerce for the subscription: no authorization fee from $1, $0.03 per 3D Secure check. |
| Checked | Disney+ Help Centre, 21.10.2026. No test payments made. |
Which card fits Disney+
All three cards pay online, pass 3D Secure and work with Apple Pay and Google Pay. For a streaming subscription the difference is what each monthly charge and each top-up costs.
| Visa Universe | Visa E-commerce | Mastercard Business | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Card price (one-time, at issuance) | 29 USDT | 35 USDT | 50 USDT |
| Top-up fee | 2% | 3.5% | 3.5% |
| Fee per payment (authorization) | $0.50 flat | Free from $1, plus $0.03 per 3D Secure check | $0.50 flat, 3D Secure included |
| Online payments and 3D Secure | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Apple Pay and Google Pay | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Disney+ on its own, or with Netflix and Spotify: Visa E-commerce. A monthly charge above $1 costs only the 3D Secure check, so several subscriptions on one card stay cheap.
Subscriptions plus larger purchases: Visa Universe. The top-up fee is lower (2% against 3.5%), but every payment costs a flat $0.50, which on a small monthly charge is noticeable.
A subscription for the office: Mastercard Business, if the same card also pays for other company spending.
None of this guarantees that Disney+ approves the payment. That decision belongs to Disney+ and card processing.
What the Disney+ Help Centre says
We read the Disney+ Help Centre on 21.10.2026. It adapts to the visitor's country, and we were shown the European version in English, so the rules in your country may differ. We have not made test payments.
- Cards, PayPal and Klarna. Disney+ accepts American Express, Mastercard and Visa credit or debit cards, and PayPal and Klarna as digital payments. Crypto is not on the list. Source: Payment methods for Disney+, checked 21.10.2026.
- EU markets take only EU payment methods. The same page says that payment methods originating from outside the EU are not accepted in EU markets at the moment. If your Disney+ account is in an EU country, ask @excards_bot where the card is issued before you subscribe. Source: Payment methods for Disney+, checked 21.10.2026.
- The card is changed in Account settings. If you pay Disney+ directly, open Account on DisneyPlus.com, choose your subscription and select Change next to Payment Method. If a partner bills you, the card is changed with that partner. Source: Updating payment information, checked 21.10.2026.
- Gift cards have country rules. Disney+ Gift Cards pay for a subscription billed directly by Disney, must be redeemed in the country where they were bought and can't be used for a subscription billed by a third party. Source: Disney+ Gift Cards, checked 21.10.2026.
You can also subscribe through a partner, for example in an app store, and then that partner charges your card. How to pay those stores is on the App Store and Google Play pages.
How to pay for Disney+, step by step
- Issue the card. Sign up at app.excards.io, pass the light passport check and choose a card. The card price is paid once, at issuance. The virtual card is ready within 10 minutes after verification.
- Top up with any crypto. This is a separate step after the card is issued: send USDT, BTC, ETH or another supported coin to your deposit address. The first top-up is at least 10 USDT, and the top-up fee of your card is taken from each top-up. Keep enough on the card for the next renewal.
- Add the card to Disney+. At sign-up, or later in Account, choose credit or debit card and enter the number, expiry date, security code and the name on the card.
- Confirm the payment. If a 3D Secure window opens, complete it right away. Before each renewal date check that the balance covers the plan price.
Common declines and what to do
| What you see | Likely reason | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Payment declined at sign-up | Balance below the plan price | Top up with a margin and try once more |
| Card refused although the details are right | Your account is in an EU market and the card is issued outside the EU | Check where the card is issued with @excards_bot; use PayPal or a gift card bought in your country |
| Payment stuck, then declined | The 3D Secure check was not finished or timed out | Retry and complete the confirmation without closing the window |
| Renewal failed | Not enough balance on the billing date | Top up, then update or retry the payment in Account |
| Can't change the card in Disney+ | The subscription is billed by a partner | Change the card with the partner, for example in the app store |
| Gift card won't redeem | Bought in another country or the subscription is billed by a partner | Use a gift card from your own country on a Disney-billed plan |
Do not press "pay" over and over. On Visa E-commerce a $0.80 surcharge applies if more than 10% of the card's payments are declined. If Disney+ charges in a currency other than USD, the card issuer converts at its rate, which can include a markup of up to 2%. Where cards are available at all is on the geo restrictions page, and the payment calculator shows what a subscription costs on each card.
Frequently asked questions
Can you pay Disney Plus with crypto?
Not directly. The Disney+ help page we read lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards, PayPal and Klarna, with no crypto option. You top up an ExCards card with any crypto and pay Disney+ with the card. Whether a payment goes through is decided by Disney+ and card processing, so no card can promise it.
Can I pay Disney+ from a crypto wallet or a crypto card balance?
A wallet can't be added to Disney+, but it can fund a card. Send coins from your wallet to the card's deposit address, the balance is credited in USDT, and Disney+ charges the card each billing period like any other card.
Does Disney+ accept virtual or prepaid cards?
The help page lists credit and debit cards by brand and says nothing either way about virtual or prepaid cards. A virtual card is entered like a plastic one: number, expiry date and security code. How Disney+ classifies an ExCards card, we don't know.
Why was my card declined on Disney+?
Most often the balance is below the subscription price, the 3D Secure check was not finished, or the card's country does not fit the Disney+ market of your account. In EU markets Disney+ says it currently accepts only payment methods from inside the EU.
Which ExCards card is best for Disney+?
For a monthly or annual subscription Visa E-commerce usually fits: payments from $1 carry no authorization fee, only $0.03 per 3D Secure check. The card costs 35 USDT, paid once at issuance.
Can I use a Disney+ gift card instead?
Yes, where Disney+ sells them. Gift cards pay for a subscription billed directly by Disney, must be redeemed in the country where they were bought and can't be used if a partner bills your subscription. Buy them only from authorised retailers.
Is identity verification needed to get the card?
Yes. KYC is required for every ExCards card: a light passport check by the card issuer partner plus sanctions screening. The virtual card is issued within 10 minutes after verification is approved.
