Pay for YouTube Premium with crypto: a virtual card for Premium and Music

YouTube Premium takes cards and other methods listed for your country, not crypto. So you top up a virtual ExCards card with any crypto and add it to your Google account. Visa E-commerce usually fits: it costs 35 USDT once, at issuance, and payments from $1 carry no authorization fee. Google decides whether the card is accepted.

Which card fits YouTube Premium

All three cards pay online, pass 3D Secure and work with Apple Pay and Google Pay. For a monthly subscription the difference is what each charge and each top-up costs.

Individual or family plan, YouTube Music: Visa E-commerce. A monthly charge above $1 costs only the 3D Secure check, and the card has no daily or monthly cap.

Premium plus larger purchases on one card: Visa Universe. The top-up fee is lower (2% against 3.5%), but every payment costs a flat $0.50.

A team account: Mastercard Business, if the same card also pays for other company spending.

None of this guarantees that a payment is approved. That decision belongs to Google and card processing.

What YouTube's help says

We read YouTube Help and Google Play Help on 21.10.2026. We have not made test payments, so below is what Google states, not our experience.

How to pay for YouTube Premium, step by step

  1. Issue the card. Sign up at app.excards.io, pass the light passport check and choose a card. The card price is paid once, at issuance. The virtual card is ready within 10 minutes after verification.
  2. Top up with any crypto. This is a separate step after the card is issued: send USDT, BTC, ETH or another supported coin to your deposit address. The first top-up is at least 10 USDT, and the top-up fee of your card is taken from each top-up. Keep enough for the next renewal on the card.
  3. Add the card in YouTube. On a computer open youtube.com/paid_memberships, select Manage membership, then Edit next to the payment method and Add credit or debit card. For a new membership, enter the card at checkout.
  4. Confirm the payment. If a 3D Secure window opens, complete it right away. A small hold may appear and disappear later.

Do not press "buy" over and over. On Visa E-commerce a $0.80 surcharge applies if more than 10% of the card's payments are declined. If Google charges in a currency other than USD, the card issuer converts at its rate, which can include a markup of up to 2%. Where cards are available at all is on the geo restrictions page, and the payment calculator shows what a subscription costs on each card.

Frequently asked questions

Can you pay YouTube Premium with crypto?

Not directly. YouTube charges an accepted payment method from its list for your country, and crypto is not on it. You top up an ExCards card with any crypto and pay YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium with the card. Whether a payment goes through is decided by Google and card processing, so no card can promise it.

Can I use a virtual card for YouTube Premium?

A virtual card is entered like any other card: number, expiry date and security code. YouTube's help lists card brands per country and says nothing about virtual cards. Google Play's list, however, says it can't be used with virtual credit cards (VCC), so a virtual card may be refused, especially if you subscribe through Google Play.

How to pay for YouTube Premium without a credit card?

YouTube's list depends on the country: in the United States it includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal and Cash App. Another route is a YouTube gift card, which adds money to your Google Play balance. With crypto, the usual way is a card topped up in advance.

Can I pay YouTube Premium annually?

YouTube's help mentions one-time and monthly membership purchases, and the options you see depend on your country. A one-time purchase is paid in full at once, so top up the card with enough for the whole period.

Why is there an extra charge after I signed up?

Most likely it is an authorization hold. YouTube checks that the card is valid and has enough funds, for example when you start a trial. The hold is not a charge and disappears within 1 to 14 business days, depending on the card issuer.

Which ExCards card is best for YouTube Premium?

For a monthly subscription Visa E-commerce usually fits: payments from $1 carry no authorization fee, only $0.03 per 3D Secure check. The card costs 35 USDT, paid once at issuance.

Is identity verification needed to get the card?

Yes. KYC is required for every ExCards card: a light passport check by the card issuer partner plus sanctions screening. The virtual card is issued within 10 minutes after verification is approved.
